Okay, really....

I need to start posting more. I think it would be more interesting if I would start doing this more. Today I am 20 weeks 4 days! Time seems to be going by a lot faster these days. We have decided on a name. She is going to be named Mattilyn Elizabeth after her dad! I am pretty sure I am feeling her move now and the doctor said if I think I am then I probably am! We went and looked at a daycare this morning and we really liked it. I am pretty sure this will be the one we go with.

In other news, Matt is still looking for a new job and we are hoping he will have good news soon! Keep him in your thoughts and prayers!

It's been awhile but I have great news!

Matt and I found out yesterday that we are having a healthy baby girl. We are beyond excited. I will try and figure out how to put pictures up so everyone can see our baby girl! Matt had the biggest grin on his face the whole night. I think this little girl is going to be a daddy's girl. I am still in shock because I was so convinced we were having a boy. We are 18 weeks today and the baby was measuring right on track. We were so glad to see that she was healthy!

Things going on....

Well I am twelve weeks this week! Yeah. I am starting to feel much better an getting my energy back. We went to the doctor on Monday and got to hear the heartbeat. It was 169! What a beautiful sound that was. I can't wait to hear it again. Also, I had a dream last night that Matt and I went for a sonogram and found out it was a girl. I am not sure what to think about that because I am convinced it is a boy. Everyone else thinks otherwise though. We'll see who is right. Here is what they say about week 12.

Your pregnancy: 12 weeks
See the big picture
How your baby's growing:The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

In other news, Matt and I leave for Mexico in 18 days. It is going to be here before we know it and we aren't anywhere near ready. We are so ready for a much needed vacation though. Hopefully it will be a week of relaxation.

Week 9

Well I accidentally skipped the update last week. Ooops. I need to figure out this whole posting picture thing because I want to put a picture of our Gummy Bear up. Well here is what is going on in Week 9 of my pregnancy.

Your pregnancy: 9 weeks

See the big picture
How your baby's growing:
Your new resident is nearly an inch long — about the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. She has tiny earlobes, and her mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby's basic physiology is in place, she's poised for rapid weight gain.

And Baby Makes Three

Well I really want to start getting better at posting and hopefully keeping you all updated with the pregnancy will be the motivation I need.

We found out on August 4th that after 15 months of trying we are having a baby. It has been kind of scary and stressful so far but things seem to be getting better. My bloodwork yesterday looked good and we go in for our second ultrasound tomorrow morning. I am putting my faith and trust in the Lord and I beleive everything is going to be okay with our little gummy bear! I am 7 weeks today and have been lucky enough to not have any morning sickness yet. Sometimes I feel a little nauseous but I will take that over being sick.

Here is what our baby looks like and is doing this week

Your pregnancy: 7 weeks
See the big picture
How your baby's growing:The big news this week: Hands and feet are emerging from developing arms and legs — although they look more like paddles at this point than the tiny, pudgy extremities you're daydreaming about holding and tickling. Technically, your baby is still considered an embryo and has something of a small tail, which is an extension of her tailbone. The tail will disappear within a few weeks, but that's the only thing getting smaller. Your baby has doubled in size since last week and now measures half an inch long, about the size of a blueberry. If you could see inside your womb, you'd spot eyelid folds partially covering her peepers, which already have some color, as well as the tip of her nose and tiny veins beneath parchment-thin skin. Both hemispheres of your baby's brain are growing, and her liver is churning out red blood cells until her bone marrow forms and takes over this role. She also has an appendix and a pancreas, which will eventually produce the hormone insulin to aid in digestion. A loop in your baby's growing intestines is bulging into her umbilical cord, which now has distinct blood vessels to carry oxygen and nutrients to and from her tiny body.

Same old Same old

Nothing too much going on here. Haven't posted in awhile because there hasn't been much to post. I go back this Saturday for CD21 blood work which will hopefully give us some answers.

Also this Saturday we are going to a going away party for his brother, Daniel. Daniel is going to be going to school in Florida. We will miss you!

Hannah came and stayed the night with us last Saturday and we really enjoyed having her with us. We hope she had a good time too!

We are preparing for a short weekend getaway to the lake next month. We are in need of a little R&R. But really we are excited for Mexico in October for our 4th anniversary. I can't beleive it is going to be 4 years so soon. Oh how time flies!

4th of July

I hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th of July.

We spent most of our weekend up at Smithville Lake. As many of you know Hannah's birthday is on the 4th of July so they had her birthday party up there on Friday and she wanted to camp for her birthday. My parents had been camping all week and we joined them along with Andy, Ricci, CheyAnne, Hannah and Christine on Saturday night. We took the dogs along with us and I think they enjoyed it. Ivy isn't too fond of the water as she got sick while we were out on the boat. I have some pictures which I have uploaded to the computer and now I just need to get them put on here.

On another note, I went in for my CD3 bloodwork this morning. Hopefully by the end of this cycle we will have some answers and maybe even a solution. Let's hope for a solution!

July 1 already!

Where has time gone? This year is really flying by.

I really need to get some pictures posted. I feel like I haven't been home at all for the past two weeks. I am getting worn out. I am so glad it is only a 4 day work week. I am not sure I can handle much more.

Matt started the night shift last night working from 10p to 6a. I am not a big fan of it but it is better than being unemployed. We are hoping for some doors to open up for him to be able to do what he has worked so hard for.

Couch to 5K

After seeing someone else doing this program to be able to do the Race for the Cure I decided I would check it out. I am on Week 2 and it is going okay. I have been jogging with Marybeth and following the program when I go to the gym. Matt was nice enough to keep me company last night on the treadmill and did the program with me! I can't wait to be able to run a 5K. I think it will be a great experience. I hope I can stay motivated to stick with it.

Trying something new

I decided since everyone else was doing it why shouldn't I. I am going to start a blog just for fun and for anyone to read who is interested. I hope this will be a way to keep everyone who I don't get to speak to on a daily basis updated on our everyday lives! When I am at home I will try to fancy this thing up a little bit and hopefully add some wonderful pictures.
