Day 35-Playing with Rubin

Ever since we lost Ivy, Mattie has been trying to rebuild her friendship with Rubin. They were great buddies when we first brought Mattie home but after a hair pulling incident Rubin has been a little afraid. He is coming around slowly. He usually runs away when she gets close but they do enjoy eating the same foods (dog food and people food) and playing with the same toys so I am hoping it will help them bond! Rubin has also become pretty protective of Mattie since Ivy passed. He might be scared of her but you better believe when she starts crying at night he is the first one in her room. He can usually make it into her room, check on her and back into our room to get me by the time I am rolling out of bed! Such a good dog! Here are some pictures of their budding friendship!

Day 19

We went to dinner at Abuelo's for a baby shower for one of my cousins. I didn't think it would be a good idea to share my nachos with Mattie so I ordered her a cheese quesadilla and fries. She sure enjoyed it! She was just helping herself to the fries! Over the weekend we had went to Wendy's and I was trying to give her some of my fries but she didn't want that. She would not take one from me, she wanted to help herself and get the fries from the box herself. She is so independent!
