Apple Orchard

On Saturday morning Matt, Mattie and I took a trip to Alldredge Apple Orchards. We had a great time even though it was chilly. Mattie was asleep when we got there but soon woke up to enjoy the fun times!

Too bad I didn't think about getting a family picture. That would have been a good idea! We can do that when we go back for pumpkins next month. We are going to make Mattie some applesauce with the apples and an apple pie for us. Yum!

5 Months old!

We have been taking a picture of Mattie every month on her birthday and this month was the first time I think she enjoyed it! Usually we can't get a smile out of her but this time she was very interested in the paper which I think made for some cute pics. I can't believe it has been 5 months already and how big she is getting. I think she gets cuter everyday!

Not a fan of cereal or oatmeal!

When we first tried giving Mattie rice cereal it wasn't too bad but now trying to get her to eat it is quite the experience. We have tried oatmeal and mixing it with bananas and nothing has worked. She does make it quite entertaining though! Here are some pictures of the facial expressions! We are beginning to think we have a drama queen on our hands!!

Getting so big!

Mattie is really trying to sit up on her own. She is getting pretty good at it as long as she balances herself with her arms. The other night I sat her up against the boppy to go to the bathroom and as soon I turned to walk away she propped herself up. Needless to say I won't be sticking her in the boppy and leaving her alone.

Eating cereal for the first time!

First is a picture of Mattie holding her bottle which she is getting very good at.



This weekend while camping Mattie kept trying to grab everything I was eating or drinking so Matt and I decided we would start her on cereal when we got home.

I had her strapped in at first but she was way too interested in the straps and it was making a big mess on them.

She figured since she can hold her own bottle she should be able to hold her own spoon. She was such a big help!!





She thought her foot might make a good side dish!



I was very glad that we took her clothes off before we started! She was a complete mess and definately needed a bath afterwards!



We will try again tonight and are going to try to make it a little thicker.

Mattie fell alseep at breakfast while sitting up playing. She had a fun filled weekend and it wore her out!
