Where to Wednesday

I stole this idea from Molly's blog and always enjoyed reading it so I thought I would start it on my own blog.

Matt has agreen to a return trip to Jamaica in December 2011. We traveled to Couples Ocho Rios back in December 2006 and had the best time. For anyone looking to go to Jamaica I highly recommend the Couples Resorts. We have only been to one but know other people who have went to others and loved it just as much as we did. This time around I am nervous about leaving Mattie even though I know she would be in great hands so I need your reassurance and your opinions. For those of you that have left your little one at home, how did you get the courage up to just book it?

And also which resort would you choose?

Or should we just say forget a mom and dad only vacation and take Mattie with us?

Very First Picnic

On Thursday night since the temps were down we decided to pack up our dinner and head to Dagg Park in North Kansas City for a picnic. We had a great time eating at the picnic table and enjoying the nice weather.



After we finished eating we decided we would let Mattie play in the fountain they have there. She enjoyed it so much.

Smoothies=ONE BIG MESS!

It was so hot out on Wednesday we decided we would make some smoothies. This isn't technically the first time Mattie has had one but the only other time was when she was sick and she wasn't eating or drinking anything so it doesn't really count. We decided we would go outside to enjoy this yummy treat since Matt was doing some stuff outside. It was a good thing I decided to strip her down too. I think our straw sippy cup was malfunctioning because I couldn't even get anything out. I went inside to get a regular straw and Matt decided to just let her lick off of the sippy straw. When I first came back out it wasn't a big deal just a messy face. Well that quickly turned into all of this. Needless to say, straight to the bathtub is where she was headed when she was done!

Eye Appointment

We had Mattie's four month eye follow up on Wednesday. The dermoid has grown in size a little bit but her vision is still great. As long as her vision continues to do well there will be no action required. If at anytime it does start to affect her vision then they will discuss surgery to remove the dermoid. We go back in six months for another check-up. We just pray that her vision continues to do well so we don't have to worry about surgery. As far as the cosmetic aspect of it, even if they remove the dermoid she will still more than likely have the spot on her eye. Matt and I agree that it gives her character!

New Pool, New Fun

Mattie got a blow up pool for her birthday but it barely made it through one use. We decided even though the plastic ones are bigger and bulkier, it would have a better chance of making it through the summer. Mattie had fun playing in it. She really enjoyed stepping down from the stairs into the pool and then back out again. I would have loved to get a video of this but my hands were occupied as she had to hold my hands while she did it. Also you can see Mattie's new swimsuit. I am not a big fan of the two pieces for babies mainly because when they are playing or you are carrying them the top tends to ride up. I thought I would give a tankini a try and I give the approval! No riding up!

5 on Friday (Vacation Style)

1. We finally booked our vacation! Orlando here we come!

2. I am very excited for vacation but with that comes nervousness. I don't mind flying but it stresses me out. Especially when there are layovers. I am always worried we are going to miss a flight. Now add the already nervousness that I have and add a baby to the mix. Oh my. I better start preparing now!

3. I am very excited for this vacation but in my head I am already planning our next vacation. Matt has promised me a trip to Jamaica!

4. I can't wait to be able to travel more with Mattie as a family. There are so many places we want to take Mattie.

5. I wish Matt has weekends off because it would be so much easier to take little weekend getaways without one of us having to use PTO. Oh the joys of being a police officer's wife.

Andrew came to play!

Andrew came over one evening to play for a little bit and Mattie had so much fun. The days she is at my mom's Andrew is there too and they really adore each other. They have so much fun and Andrew is so protective of his little Mattie. Rubin trying to take her ugly doll. She really wants to be like Rubin so she chews on it! Hello! Bye Bye! Playing on the ATV.

At least the hat and sippy cup match!

We went and watched Andrew at his t-ball game a few weeks ago and it was very hot out at 12:00 in the afternoon. I forgot to pack Mattie's white hat that would have matched her outfit great so I had to put a non matching one on her. At least I coordinated the hat and sippy cup, I should get points for that!

Father's Day

Here are some pictures from Father's Day. Matt had to work the night before so he slept pretty much all day and then we went to dinner with my mom and dad. It was a good day.
